Mr. Jeffrey L. Herren, P.E.
Mr. Herren oversees the Firm's operations, which includes providing clients with thought-leadership, offering best practices from industry and client engagements, as well as establishing strategic direction.
Mr. Herren has over 25 years of experience in the Defense industry, advising clients and senior management on the complexities involved in the acquisition, engineering, and cost estimation of large-scale combat system electronics and information systems for Major Defense Acquisition Programs (MDAP). Mr. Herren has assisted multiple programs in the management of multi-year procurements, review of highly complex system integrator proposals, and development of budget and long-term investment plans presented to senior-level Department of Defense (DoD) officials. As noted below, Mr. Herren has earned a reputation for partnering with clients to deliver measurable results.

Prior to founding Herren Associates in 1989, Mr. Herren lead engagements at Booz Allen Hamilton, modernizing the Department of Taxation financial infrastructure for the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico. From 1980 to 1985, Mr. Herren held engineering management positions at Atlantic Research Corporation effectively implementing manufacturing resource planning for the production of tactical missile propulsion systems and solid rocket motors for space lift propulsion.
Mr. Herren holds a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) with a concentration in Finance from The George Washington University School of Business and a Bachelor of Science in Industrial & Systems Engineering from Mississippi State University. Additionally, Mr. Herren is a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
